The Weekly Rhetoric’s 2026 Plans
Hey Rhetors,
With the holidays in full swing, many of us aren’t checking our emails or feeds very closely. Instead, we’re spending time with loved ones. That’s what this humble blogger thinks you should be doing, anyways. So, today’s post will be a little different from my previous four.
I started this blog in December of this year. I knew it was an awkward time with the holidays looming, but just like a kid waking up on Christmas day, I couldn’t wait to launch the project. So, now that we’re nearly through the holidays, and I have a few posts under my belt, I wanted to share with you the goal and plan for this blog next year.
So no insight this week, only excitement for what’s to come! Let’s dive in:
The Only Goal Ever: Build Something Bigger
My selfish goal for starting this project was to make something of my own. Now that I’ve technically done that, I want to make it bigger than myself. It doesn’t matter how it grows; call it a larger subscriber count, a community of like-minded individuals, or a program of sorts. Either way, I’d like to one day hear, “Did you read/listen/view the The Weekly Rhetoric” this week?” rather than, “Let’s see what Tim wrote this week.”
With that in mind, here are the various experiments I’m running with as TWR gets into growth mode:
1. Less Lectures, More Stories
The easiest lessons to digest come from a narrative, not me talking at you. That’s why some weeks, instead of “how to” or “why” type posts, I’ll simply tell or retell you a story from business, politics, or culture that ends in a takeaway.
2. Give the Megaphone to Smarter Voices
I’m 25 years old. I don’t shy away from that! But as someone earlier in my career and general knowledge, I know there’s much more to learn in every area of my life. For that reason, I’d rather you hear from experts in the field of communication. That’s why you’ll see a few posts this year in an interview style format to get information straight from the horses mouth.
3. Cultivate the Composition
I enjoy writing, and in a lot of ways! But for TWR to take on a characteristic of something larger than myself, I’ll be crafting a tone that resonates best with you. So expect a few changes in the tone of these posts as I refine it through 2026.
4. Do Something for You!
I can’t grow without you. Since you’re already reading this blog, thank you! If you’re sharing it beyond yourself, thank you even more! In some way this coming year, I want to reward you for being a subscriber to TWR, be it a larger content package, a discount code for something (if I ever monetize this project with sponsors), a sweepstakes program, a dedicated community page, even a full education course. As you can see, I haven’t figured it out yet. But know it’s coming!
I can’t wait for what’s next. If you’re subscribed, thank you for a great 2025, and I’ll see you in 2026!
Talk soon,
Tim
P.S. No Curation Corner this week. Send me videos/quotes/podcasts/books you think should be featured this year!
